Dog Retreat is held annually at the world famous Elms Resort and Spa Hotel in Excelsior Springs, Missouri. The weekend event is a benefit for Excelsior Springs Friends of Animals.Pets and their people enjoy the weekend filled with activities such as dog contests, demos and workshops.
Activities are held both inside and outside the hotel. Leashed and vaccinated pets are welcomed.
There is no cost to enter the grounds and many activites are free including:Camp Dog (Agility & more),Dog contests, Demos, classes and wokshops, childrens activities and the Pet Expo and Bark forThe Arts show. In 2010 the Dog Retreat will also host a 5K Run /1Mile walk the morning of Saturday September 11.
Author and nationally syndicated columnist C.W. Gusewelle will speak and sign books Saturday evening in the Regent Ballroom. There is no fee but donations to ESFOA are welcomed. Books will be available for purchase at the event.
